The Eastern Hills Mini Carnival is on Sunday 24th March to be played at North Swan Ovals, Midland. This is not a normal round fixture and is being conducted in recognition of Johnny Mac who passed away suddenly from cancer in late 2012. Johnny is well known by the Makos travellers to National Carnivals for his efforts as a trainer ensuring players were ready for the rigorous three games in five days.
The Makos will play two matches in the carnival both being at this stage of 2 x 20 min halves with a five minute break as per the fixture below. Due to the lack of games/time player numbers will be restricted to 22 players……a list will be put on the board tomorrow night. Reminder that this is the first weekend of the AFL so if your keen to watch your team, have kids sport on or going to lunch with your missus to sweeten her up before the season starts don’t nominate, make sure you can attend!!
The bus will be travelling up with the cost being $10………after discussions with Hawka each player will be required to provide a further $10 to play which will be a donation to the Bayla Cancer Retreat which assisted Johnny Mac in the late stages of his life. $20 total per player……..
Fixtures:
1240hrs – Makos vs Southern Saints – Oval 1
1510hrs – Makos vs Fremantle Phantoms – Oval 1
